The OneMoney, zero tariff extension until March has already received widespread praise at a time other mobile money platforms are attracting exorbitant transaction costs on an already hard-pressed citizenry.

Furthermore, the company is exploring alternative sources of energy to mitigate service disruptions from power cuts that characterized the previous year.

“NetOne is continually enhancing our quality network and we are exploring alternative energy solutions to ensure network availability throughout Zimbabwe. We stand tall as our services continue to spread to previously marginalized areas as we continue to provide the widest network coverage in Zimbabwe,” Muchenje said.

The company embarked on a mass registration program of merchants, agents and billers for its OneMoney portfolio last year, managing to recruit over 10 000 merchants and agents by close last year.

The program has since been de-centralized to all NetOne offices across the country with the company also in pursuit of popularizing its OnePay service, a bulk disbursement platform for settlement of salaries and other payments.
