There was heavy security presence at the Defense Forces Day Celebrations at the National Sports Stadium ahead of the planned MDC demo slated for this Friday.
Generally, the police force has been on high alert in the days leading the opposition party’s mass action and the government has been sending a chilling warning to the MDC that should the demonstration turn violent, there will be the deployment of armed force.
Consequently, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been tightened whenever he has made a public address.
Yesterday, Deputy Defense and War Veterans Affairs Minister, Victor Matemadanda vowed that the demonstration would not go on without giving a reason why.
