Norton legislator, Themba Mliswa yesterday in Parliament vehemently threatened to beat Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Sekesai Nzenza’s husband, Adam Shand if the Speaker of the House did not intervene for sending him Whatsapp messages, labeling him a “sexist dog”.
Shand was reacting to Mliswa’s utterances alleging that the Minister was evading Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) officials.
Mliswa over the weekend alleged that Nzenza was on the run for fear of prosecution as it was reported she received part of the NSSA loot as cover up for the jailed tourism minister, Prisca Mupfumira.
He even alleged that Nzenza has a mansion built for her in Cape Town by the beleaguered Tourism Minister using public funds.
This did not go down well with the Minister’s husband who engaged Mliswa on his cellphone prompting the threats in Parliament.
“Mr. Speaker Sir, I rise to have this House record that on Monday, I received a message from Adam Shent, who sent me a message and said, “Can you please call, regards” and I did not and I said, “who are you sir?” He said, “I am Sekesai Nzenza’s husband who you have been defaming”. He then went on to say that, “you are such a blow hard. Sure, Sekesai is my wife but I support her 100%. The fact that you even mentioned bedroom issues shows what a cheap sexist dog you are, who feels mortally threatened by a strong independent good looking woman,”
“I am saying this so that it is recorded that I am under threat by her husband and I have this on WhatsApp. He called me a sexist dog and I have it here as evidence. I want to know what action Parliament will take because we are discharging our duties as Members of Parliament and we are being threatened. I want to know the course of action Parliament will take,” fumed Mliswa before going on to make physical threats.
The Speaker however, assured Mliswa that the House would look into the matter before the former Warriors fitness trainer issued physical threats.
“Thank you Mr Speaker, or else within five minutes or five seconds the husband will be there (pointing upwards),”
“Varume vavo vakupindira nyaya dzemunomu. Murungu ndinorova. Murungu i5 seconds,” translated into “Their husbands are now interfering into Parliamentary business. I will beat the white man in just five seconds,” roared Mliswa much to the ovation of opposition legislators.
This is the second time in just a few months the firebrand legislator has threatened parliamentarians from the ruling ZANU PF party.
In February this year, Mliswa threatened to beat Chegutu West MP, Dexta Nduna after a burst up at a Mines and Energy portfolio committee meeting.
