Manchester United’s Anthony Martial soars up Sky Sports Power Ranking list

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has soared up the Sky Sports Power Rankings to number 11.

The Frenchman may have only played 114 minutes in the Premier League but his three goals in that time, against Liverpool and Southampton, sees him jump a massive 116 places in this week’s list to just outside the top 10.

Meanwhile readers may be surprised to learn that West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Boaz Myhill has moved into top spot following a great sequence of performances for the Baggies. The Wales international has climbed 36 places after keeping four clean sheets in his last five Premier League games.

This great run has seen him just pip another goalkeeper to the number one slot in Hugo Lloris who has shot up 50 places having kept three clean sheets in his last five appearances.

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the previous five weeks – with each preceding week worth fewer points. This means the Power Rankings reflect the in-form players of the moment.

Last week’s table topper Aleksandar Kolarov has dropped down to 18th place following Manchester City’s shock 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham onSaturday Night Football.

The biggest jump of the week is for Kurt Zouma who scored and helped keep a clean sheet as Chelsea overpowered nine-man Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. He moves up 303 places to 61st, while Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez remains top of the overall season rankings.
