The beleaguered Zimbabwe Football Association, Zifa has moved a motion to regional football governing body, COSAFA, Phillip Chiyangwa for what they described as ‘Negative interference to Zimbabwean football business’.
Zifa went on to consider their membership status and participation in all COSAFA businesses and competitions if the regional soccer governing body does not hid their call.
In a statement seen by this publication, signed by Zifa general secretary Joseph Mamutse, the football association which has for the past weeks hogged lime light for wrong reasons, cited a number of reasons why they have recommended that Chiyangwa should be relieved of his duties as the COSAFA president.
Chiyangwa is being accused of working in cahoots with his former deputy Omega Sibanda to dis-stabilize the Zifa ship, organizing secret meetings with individuals from the current Zifa board to sabotage the current board, the business man has also been accused of working with veteran Journalist Hope Chizuzu to influence players to boycott matches among other accusation.
Zifa however proposed the revocation of the mandate of Chiyangwa to lead COSAFA, the recall of Chiyangwa and Sibanda from any positions they hold at COSAFA and Fifa as well as proposing an extra ordinary general meeting for COSAFA to be held to recall Chiyangwa.
