UAE Donates Equipment To Harare Hospital

United Arab Emirates has donated hospital equipment including five dialysis machines, intensive care incubators among others to Harare hospital, a gesture the government said was a relief to the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Health minister Obadiah Moyo who received the equipment on behalf of the government said most healthcare facilities were facing challenges due to unavailability of functional equipment.

“We are grateful for the help that the UAE is giving us. This is the first batch that we have received and we were made to understand that more is coming to assist in our local institutions.

Most of the healthcare facilities are facing challenges due to unavailability of functional medical equipment which over the years has become obsolete while some have been declared beyond economic repair.

“This donation comes as a relief to my ministry and it shall go a long way in providing the much needed technology interventions in both diagnosis and treatment of our patients,” said Dr Moyo.

Amongst the hospital equipment, there are five dialysis machines, intensive care incubators with multi parameters and respiratory aid devices for neonates.

UAE recently took a tour in the Zimbabwe as they looked for how they can intervene in the health sector.

“This equipment will be going to Harare hospital as a request from UAE, they noticed the need,” added the Minister.
