High Court Dismiss Masarira Conviction

Two High Court Judges Justice Charles Hungwe and Justice Neville Wamambo on Tuesday 20 November 2018 set aside the conviction of pro-democracy campaigner Linda Masarira, who was convicted in March 2017 and sentenced to serve 385 hours of community service for participating in an anti-government protest held in July 2016 against Zimbabwe’s former leader Robert Mugabe’s administration.

Masarira was represented by Obey Shava and Kudzayi Kadzere of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights.
