Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition Advocacy officer Conrad Munyaradzi Gweru appeared before Harare Magistrate court facing charges of disorderly conduct following an altercation with police officers early this month.
Gweru who spend two nights in police cells was arrested on allegations of insulting a Zimbabwe Republic Police Officer, Victor Mawodza.
On the day in question, the state alleges that the accused person shouted to the complainant, Mawodza saying the police should be beaten for their over-zealousness.
But Gweru’s lawyer, Gift Mtisi argued that the accused only took pictures of police officers who were beating up commuter omnibus operators in the Central Business District.
He will be back in court on the 21st of November 2018 for trial.
