The National Social Security Authority (NSSA) will this Friday host its second annual breakfast meeting for senior executives and managers from all economic sectors to discuss Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) issues.
As Zimbabwe soldiers on towards attaining middle-income status by 2030, adherence to OSH is vital to safeguard the welfare of employees. Enforcement of safe and secure work environments requires commitment from top executives within organizations, hence the CEO’s breakfast by NSSA.
Apart from providing social security through its Pensions and Other Benefits Scheme, the Authority has a mandate to manage occupational safety and health in Zimbabwe and to administer the related statutes on behalf of the government.
The CEOs’ breakfast, a major highlight on the NSSA calendar, will bring together the nations’ transformational leaders to deliberate on workplace safety and health issues, all in an effort to prevent accidents and diseases in the workplace. The platform will also give the CEOs an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to achieving ZERO occupational injuries, ZERO diseases, and ZERO fatalities, in line with this year’s theme “Vision Zero: SAFETY, HEALTH, WELLBEING”.
The CEOs’ breakfast is a precursor to the Safety and Health at the Workplace (SHAW) Conference, a three-day event running from the 3rd to the 5th of October, that will see local and international delegate deliberate on promoting excellence in safety, health and environmental practices at the workplace.
An awards dinner that recognizes organizations that performed exceptionally in upholding OSH practices will cap the SHAW conference.
