Zimbabwe’s 2018 election vote counting has reached its primacy with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission releasing National House of Assembly results in batches since yesterday. As the nation impatiently awaits the major Presidential results, we decided to extract a few interesting social media reactions from Twitter as online bloggers continue to post their views on the contact of the election.
Yesterday morning, as MID cooked up presidential results to steal #chamisa's emphatic victory, @ZECzim Chigumba told some journalists & diplomats Mnangagwa "would get 53%". In the evening this was upped to 60%, as per what @qmoyo2000 told some journalists. Brazen MID theft!

Zimbabwe, like many African Countries, vote along tribal lines save for tiny urban pop & not ideology. ZANU is predominantly Shona who are 70% Of the Pop & MDC is mainly Ndebele which is 20% .. MDC will get Harare & Bulawayo only. ZANU will win with 60% … #ZimElections2018

I will never join ZANU PF because the model, for me, is completely wrong – the patronage, the corruption & the failure to take Zim forward. I choose principle and values over expediency and what is convenient. I’ve been that way my whole life and it won’t change any time soon. https://t.co/DU80fVrn7U
