Vice President, Retired General Constantino Chiwenga says the ‘new dispensation’ is carrying an unnecessary burden of cleaning up the mess made by Movement for Democratic Change(MDC), which runs most town and city coucils across the country.

He made the remarks while addressing a Zanu-PF campaign rally in highly impoverished and underdeveloped area of Epworth surburb, located to the South of Harare

The VP said that, since the MDC-T started controlling city councils, roads and sewer upkeep have been abandoned which has sent the ‘new dispensation’ led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, on a mission to undo the destruction.

“As you all know MDC has dominated votes in cities and towns, which means they were watching over the destruction of our roads and sewer as city and town councils were under their control.

“So now the new dispensation has taken it upon itself to undo the mess, hence, the reason why you have been seeing road construction projects commencing. Those projects are enabled by Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development under the ZANU PF government,” said Chiwenga.

He also reiterated that ZANU PF will win the 2018 presidential elections slated for 30 July and urged all opposition parties should be able to accept the results.

“Party members who lost in primary elections should accept defeat and move on just as we expect opposition parties who would have lost to ZANU PF,” added Chiwenga to loud cheers.
