We Are Conceding Soft Goals: Chitembwe

By his own admission, Caps United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe is a worried man after his side has seen the fire it exhibited when the season started, being put off.

But he is a man who knows where the worry is coming from. The tough-talking Chitembwe says his defence is letting him down as the club is conceding soft goals.

In the last three game Caps United have managed to collect a single point from the nine available and Chitembwe admits to being a worried man.

After losing to Ngezi Platinum on Sunday, Chitembwe says his back four has not been consistant, a move he attributes to him still trying to work on his combinations.

“We need to keep on fighting, but the most disappointing thing is we seem like we are conceding soft goals.  Last week we let our opponents score another soft goal and I personally think that we could have dealt with that goal easily. In the game against Ngezi, we also conceded two very soft goals and that has been a cause for concern,” he said.

But he is not letting the problem go unresolved. He hopes to give more motivation to his charges during training.

“Its everyone’s responsibility to try and correct things and we have another working week and I certainly hope we will try in training to address the issue.

The old adage in football is that attacks will win you games but the defence will win you titles.

For Caps United, its a problem they need to address urgently as they have another tricky encounter coming up. They exciting Highlanders in their next match, which by any means, will not be an easy encounter considering how Bosso have been playing this season.
