Dynamos humiliated again as Bosso win

Castle Lager Premier League mid-week 8 results saw reigning champions Dynamos succumbed to their second defeat of the season to debutants Whawha at Ascot Stadium and Bulawayo giants redeemed themselves when they walloped newly promoted Prisons side Flame Lily 3-0 at Lafarge Stadium.

The Glamour Boys suffered 1-0 defeat to Whawha as they registered their second lose of the season. Roy Uriseri’s strike two minutes just before half time sealed the victory for Whawha that left the defending champions in third place with 14 points, five behind leaders Chicken Inn.

Whawha registered their second win of the season after a poor start to the campaign and they managed to register their first win a fortnight ago against FC Platinum. They now have 8 points and have moved an inch up to 13th place on the log-standings.

Dynamos struggled to settle all afternoon as they wandered without any direction as they lacked cohesion from all departments that saw them failing to make any meaningful threat in the host’s penalty box.

The Glamour Boys gaffer David ‘Yogi’ Mandigora was disappointed with his team’s performance when they failed to convert early chances into the game.

“We lost the game when we failed to utilise those early chances and we have to soldier on and rectify our mistakes,” said Mandigora.

Whawha coach Lloyd ‘Samaita’ Mutasa was a relieved man after they were humiliated by Hwange when they were condemned to a 6-0 defeat and he gave credit to his charges for turning the tables around.

“I give credit to the youngsters for showing such a character to rise up against the defending champions after we lost by a big margin over the weekend,” revealed Mutasa.

Highlanders redeemed themselves when they dismissed newcomers Flame Lily by 3-0 in their mid-week encounter after they were defeated by struggling CAPS United in their own backyard. Bosso registered their biggest win of the season at a time when Highlanders coach was under pressure from both the fans and management for poor performance of the squad.

The battle for top spot remained unchanged as Chicken Inn and Triangle match ended in nil all stalemate at Luveve stadium. FC Platinum won by 3-0 against How Mine at Mandava stadium.

Buffaloes dismissed Dongo Sawmills at Vengere stadium by 1-0, whilst Harare City stunned ZPC Kariba by 2-1. Chapungu beat Tsholotsho 1-0.

The much expected match between CAPS United and Hwange failed to live up to its billing as the match ended in a nil all draw.
