Addressing thousands of party supporters who attended the MDC Alliance Chegutu rally on Saturday, Chamisa said his government will ensure that both commercial and peasant farmers have title title deeds on the land they gained during the land reform programme.
He reiterated that the agenda of his incoming government is not to reverse the land reform policy, but to focus on value addition and beneficiation through the employment of modernisation and sustainability agricultural models.
“Smart agriculture comes with modernised irrigation schemes whereby farmers will be assisted with farming equipment such as tractors in each village and this is the Alliance’s agenda for real transformation,” said Chamisa.
Chamisa refuted claims that once in power his government will bring drastic changes that will negatively impact on the security sector, pledging to improve the welfare of police and soldiers.
“The police, soldiers and the whole security sector, traditional chiefs and village heads will not be tempered with since they are the head of the country,” added Chamisa.
