Caps United, Champions in 2016 played to a nil all draw with 2017 Champions, FC Platinum at the National Sports this afternoon in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match, where both teams missed a lot of opportunities to collect maximum points.
Llyod Chitembwe, speaking after the match, said he was satisfied by his team’s performance but rued missed chances that could have seen the Green Machine walking away with three points.
FC Platinum came into the match on the back of a two-match winning streak while the Green Machine were looking for their first set of maximum points after drawing their first two games of the season.
“In terms of the performance, I can say it was a good one, which was accompanied by numerous chance we created although we failed to convert them.
He heaped praise on one of the team’s junior players, Tinotenda Chiunye, who was introduced in the second half and produced a stellar performance.
“On introducing the youngster, we wanted to see what he has been showing at training and he managed to come to the party when we had the position.He still has a long way to go and he needs to keep working hard to achieve his best,” said Chitembwe.
FC Platinum assistant coach Lizwe Sweswe said he was equally impressed with his team’s performance.
“I think on the basis that we were playing away, we played well because if you look at the other previous seasons, when we come to Harare we usually lose points and I am satisfied with the performance,” said Sweswe.
Meanwhile, Dynamos continues to sing the blues after losing their second match of the season as they lost 1-0 to Ngezi Platinum at Baobab Stadium.
