Zimbabwe Defence Forces who are currently in control of state of affairs have insisted that the military has not taken over the running of the country while assuring the nation that President Robert Mugabe and his family’s security in guaranteed.
This comes after ZANU PF officials reacted to the statement that was issued by Commander of the Defence Forces Constantine Chiwenga on Monday calling for an end to “purging” and “cleansing” of party members in the ruling Zanu PF party.
Chiwenga warned that the military was ready to step in and protect the country from counter revolutionaries whom they said had taken over the show in Zanu PF.

“We wish to assure the nation that his excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Head of State and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence forces Cde R.G Mugabe and his family are safe and their security is guaranteed.
“We are only targeting criminals under him who are committing crimes that are causing social and economic suffering in the country in order to bring justice and as soon as we accomplish our mission,we expect that the situation will return to normalcy,” said Major General Sibusiso Moyo.
