Zimbabwean music producer Tatenda Kamera also known as Mr Kamera has teamed up with Simbarashe Tagwireyi better known as Simba Tagz, a Zimbabwean born producer, singer and emcee for his second official single Netflix and Chill.
The single is a combination of Afro Beat and Sungura (Zimbabwean Guitar) with soothing vocals that will make you want to pick up the phone and call a loved one. The video which is currently viral on social media was shot in Central London while on tour in the UK.
“As a pioneer of the Afro Beat movement, I have always believed Africa has the greatest instruments and drum patterns to showcase musically,” Mr Kamera told 263Chat recently.
The two also produced Ammara Brown’s song “Tawina” which is on her new album “Ammartia” and features Hugh Masekela, a South African composer and artist.
Mr Kamera spends most of his time in the studio producing for big African artists or working on his music and has worked with the like of Ice Prince, Victoria Kimani, Burna Boy, Cassper Nyovest, AKA and Yemi Alade, among many others.
Inspired by the likes of Oliver Mtukudzi and Fela Kuti, Mr Kamera has made a great contribution to the rise of African Music globally and believes his journey has only began.
Speaking to Simba Tagz who features in the new song “Netflix and Chill”, he said the song really does not have a deep meaning but is about chilling.
“Netflix and chill is about chilling, whether at someone’s house or your house, watch some TV and chill out,
“The video was shot in London because we wanted a new flare and feel for it,” added Simba.
He went to say his fans should look forward to hearing more from him this festive season.
“The video for “Totenda Mwari” will be coming out next week and i will performing at a lot of shows,” he said.
Simba Tagz will also be performing at the most happening Nigerian artist’s show, Tekno which is being hosted by Triplife Entertainment which is expected to draw attention as it has set on social media.
The show will be at Alexandra Sports on the 24th of November 2017.
