Converged telecommunications giant TelOne has today launched prepaid voice bundles and WiFi Home & Away, two products which are specifically designed to meet the convenience demands of the Internet age market. The new products come at a time when the telecom giant has entered final phase of its ongoing National Broadband Project which will see the operator’s core network scaled to capacitate the provision of more services.
The prepaid voice bundles are now available for purchase in all TelOne outlets countrywide and also on the operator’s self service portal https://selfservice.telone.co.zw. TelOne subscriber’s are now able to utilize their home subscriptions while on the go using the new WiFi Home & Away product which allows them to access the Internet via all TelOne’s nationwide hot-spots.
The prepaid voice bundles come as little as $5, capped with 200 minutes on TelOne to TelOne calls plus off-net benefits of 50 minutes. The biggest give away comes on the $20 bundle which gives users a generous 950 minutes on inter-TelOne calls plus an extra bonus of 200 minutes off the TelOne network.
Mrs Chipo Mutasa, the TelOne MD said her team is very excited on the milestones achieved so far especially the recent completion of the Beitbridge – Bulawayo link which now interlinks TelOne’s Wide Area Network (WAN) direct with South Africa.
She further added that, the TelOne engineering team continues to explore more options in the northern region of the country which will see TelOne establishing direct links with the SADC region via the likes of Zambia.
TelOne’s National Broadband Project is being funded by a $98 million loan facility secured from the China Exim Bank late last year. The project will see the telecom giant revamping its core network to improve service delivery across the country and also offering Internet age solutions such as VoIP, cloud solutions and enterprise storage offered via the recently commissioned national Data Center.
