Police have placed former Harare City and Highlanders footballer, Misheck Mburayi, and his alleged accomplices on its wanted list after he and two of his accomplices skipped bail in a case they are being charged for impersonating police officers and attempted robbery.
The two were issued with warrants of arrest after they failed to appear in court.
Regional Magistrate, Elisha Mujaya removed former police officers Farai Mupundumani and Carrington Marasha from remand, arguing that the case cannot proceed to trial in the absence of the other two suspects.
The State would now proceed by way of summons.
Mburayi and Mazarire were released on a $50 bail each granted by the High Court last month.
State allegations are that on June 14 this year, Mburayi, Mazarire and their alleged accomplices stormed an illegal commuter omnibus rank in the city armed with metal spikes and a “police fines ticket book” posing as traffic police. www.zifmnews.com
