ZPC Kariba gaffer, Sunday Chidzambwa threatened to leave the Kariba based side after watching his side fall to Caps United in the Castle Lager premiership match at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Victory for Makepekepe ended their six match winless run and Chidzambwa could not hide his frustration, prematurely storming off from his post match interview before journalists.

“If players are not prepared to fight then I am prepared to kiss this goodbye. We are not fighting so I might just as well resign.

“We have very good players but this is what is happening to us, to me. Maybe there is someone they are willing to fight for who is not me. That is my comment. If they are not prepared to fight for me then I think I should just resign and go rest at my home,” said a visibly angry Chidzambwa.

Chidzambwa fell short of accusing his players of deliberately losing matches.

Makepekepe had gone for six matches without a win before Dominic Chungwa’s wonder strike on 62 minutes shot past Tendai Hove in goals for ZPC to help coach, Lloyd Chitembwe collect all three points.

“You can bank on three or four players there but all of them were fighting for every ball,” said Chidzambwa.

Caps United assistant coach, Fungai Tostao said that they hoped to take it a game at a time considering that the win had come after a barren spell.

“I knew we were wining today, we now have to remain committed and retain the fighting spirit we showed today,” said Tostao.

Caps United face troubled Tsholotsho in their next assignment on Wednesday at Rufaro Stadium.
