Econet’s Ownai Partners UNDP & Zimbabwe Farmers Union

Econet Wireless’s e-commerce startup Ownai has partnered the United Nations Development Programme and Zimbabwe Farmers Union to conduct a Farmers Market Fair to be held tomorrow on Saturday at the Harare Show Grounds in Harare.

The fair is aimed at promoting linkages across agricultural value chains, from the input suppliers,
producers (farmers), markets and consumers. Farmers from all provinces in Zimbabwe will exhibit their produce and commodities under display will include dried produce, polished rice, various fruits and vegetables among others.

It will also present an opportunity for farmers to exhibit other talents that they have apart from field work. Farmers will also be displaying crafts on their exhibition stands.

According to organizers of the event, the fair will enable farmers to interact with buyers and input suppliers.

Gates will be open for the general public from 1030 to 1630hrs.

Three best display farmers stand a chance to win smart phones and a raffle draw will be conducted for a hamper to be won by the public.

Ownai has grown to become the biggest classifieds e-commerce platform in Zimbabwe, giving traders from all industries a free platform to market their various commodities.
