Chitiyo Brace Sink USM Alger

FOR another record Caps United have again defended their home record as on fire Ronald Chitiyo’s brace was enough to sink Algerian side USM Alger in a CAF group B matched played at the giant National Sports Stadium in Harare on Wednesday.

The former Harare City player scored a goal in each half to send Caps United supporters into celebrations after the final whistle.

A win for the green machine revives their hopes of proceeding to the quarter finals of the CAF Champions league after falling to Zamalek in their opening game in Egypt a fortnight ago.

The game started with Caps united dominating possession with Ronald Chitiyo opening his goal scoring account.

First half ended with the Zimbabwe side leading but USM Algiers came back in the second half on fire scoring in the 61st minute silencing Caps United fans who were already counting the game, a closed affair.

Caps United continued to pile pressure looking for a winning goal and their effort were duly rewarded after Rusike dribbled past four players before passing the ball to Chitiyo who wasted no time before pulling a shot in the back of the net to wild celebrations from the Makepekepe supporters.

After the match, Lloyd Chitembwe said saluted his charges for a good game adding that he was confident of getting a result from the game.

“We played as a team and the result came our way and now we now concentrating on our next game in the Champions League against Al Ahli Tripoli on Friday next week,” said Chitembwe.
