The Zimbabwe Football Association President, Phillip Chiyangwa on Monday donated soccer kits to all prisons in Zimbabwe to aid the rehabilitation of prisoners.

Chiyangwa who is also the COSAFA President handed over the kits to the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner General Paradzai Zimondi at the ZIFA offices in Harare.

Addressing the media after the handover, Chiyangwa said “I have sourced so many football things that are going direct to the prisoners coming from a long time negotiations deal.”

The former Chinhoyi legislator said each of the 46 prisons in the country will receive two kits for both men and women teams.

“I am informed that in Zimbabwe we have 46 prison and we are going to give two kits per prison that will sum up to 92 for both men and women.

“The dream of Commissioner Zimondi to have players for league clubs coming from the prison is the reason why I had to take this move.

“Chiyangwa is keen to see a soccer star that will come from the prison because going to prison does not mean the end of the world,” said the flamboyant businessman.

Zimondi applauded Chiyangwa for the good gesture saying some people ignore the fact that prisoners have life to live.
