As the 2018 elections continue to draw closer, Dr Zeb Shumba’s Zimbabwe People First has launched an ambitious campaign dubbed Joshua time which he said is a transitional era from wilderness to Canaan as momentum.
Speaking at the launch of the Joshua Time campaign in Mutare last week, Derrick Lupemba who is the Chief Executive Officer of Zim First called for the nation to unite and vote Zanu Pf out of power for its failure to solve the crisis which the country is currently facing.
Lupemba said Zimbabwe is currently facing a myriad of problems including unemployment, poor service delivery, and shrinking economy among others while the ruling Zanu PF continue to fight internal power battles that do not benefit the country.
“Zanu PF has failed and we should vote wisely, voting wisely is voting Dr Shumba into office, as a country we are facing a lot of problems but the Zanu PF government has decided to neglect us focusing on petty issues,” said Lupemba.
Speaking at the same occasion Fungai Sithole who is the Youth Director called young people to register and vote Dr Shumba.
Sithole also called on young people to be pro active and define their own destiny.
“Young people should register and vote, we should define our own destiny rather than leaving old folks telling us that we are the leaders of tomorrow, we have to make it clear that we are the leaders of today not tomorrow,” said Sithole.
Advocate Happy Sophia Tsara who is the Zim Peoples First Finance Director accused Zimbabwe Election Commission of failing to handle free and fair elections.
“ZEC has failed us and it should be dissolved and we form an independent commission to run the 2018 elections” said Tsara.
