Weekend Entertainment review with Munashe Chokodza

This weekend, Zimdancehall had its first big show of 2017 at Mbare netball complex. The show proved that Zimdancehall fans had missed live perfomances especially in Mbare which is regarded as the bedrock of the genre. It took Kinnah popularly known as Mr Mbare or the Barcelona of Mbare to bring a star studded line-up to celebrate his birthday on Saturday.

Although the show started late with other big artists in no show, the few artists who came including Maggikal, King Shaddy and a young girl from Murehwa ‘11’ Fyar Lady gave fans a good show as they belted hit after hit in a full house.

On Friday, Sulumani Chimbetu performed at Jazz 24/7 attracting a good turn out. Songs such as Alice proved popular with fans and with the kind of connection that the Dendera musician is creating, Jazz 24/7 could soon turn into his home ground.

Soul Jah love, riding high with his latest single, Pamamonya ipapo trending in all four corners of the country performed at Volt night club on Friday. The Ndini uya uya hitmaker seems to have finally seen the light as he is nolonger absconding shows like he did in the past.

The former Third Generation band member, Baba Harare was at Mereki Shopping Centre on Sunday where he had an open show.

The king of Sungura, Alick Macheso had two shows in Bulawayo and Gweru which were all well attended. .
