Gospel music in Zimbabwe has a large following but it appears few promoters are willing to help market upcoming artistes who have for years been struggling for recognition.

One such artist who feel hard done is Itai Sandras who in 2014 released a song titled Tino Simudza Maoko which by any standard was a good enough to make airwaves but suffered from lack of airplay on national radio stations.
While this should have demoralized Sandras, it has pushed him to take his act to another level.
In 2015, he helped in the formation of a gospel music choir named Peace Gospel Singers that he believes has what it takes to finally make him get recognition for his talent.
Based in Harare, with members drawn from across the country, Peace Gospel Singers has already released a DVD album titled Itai Tiende with 12 songs.
The 58 member group’s first DVD album feature a number of established artists including Matthias Mhere, Kuda Mutsvene, Trymore Bande among others.
In an interview with 263Chat, Sandras said.” the reason why i formed the choir is because i had a vision of uniting artists from different churches and giving them a platform of showcasing their talent, praising God with their talents.”
Sandras believes Peace Gospel Singers will assist him to pursue his long held dream of assisting and promoting upcoming artists in the country.
