In the midst of a ragging storm and fallout between contemporary musician Jah Prayzah and former Third Generation dancer, Pamela ‘Gonyeti’ Zulu, fans have weighed in urging the musician to pay up his dues.
Gonyeti left Third Generation on the eve of the Mudhara Vachauya launch in August and she claimed that she was treated as a sex slave by the third generation leader who at times forced her into unprotected sex.
In a series of comments on a Facebook video posted by the popular musician, where he was thanking his fans for standing by him through the “trying time”, fans expressed dismay over his alleged failure to pay his former employee.
Ronnie Dongo wrote “If you can’t work alone, learn to pay those who work with u. you are definitely going to sink if u think you are invincible. Pay this lady Gonyeti what you owe her.”
Another Fan Patson Chawonwa said “If l was Jah, l was going to simply pay Gonyeti. But it’s too late, he should have paid her before the scandal. That’s being gentlemen enough. Looking at your comment didn’t see you trying to come clean.
“Guilty conscience struck. If you paid Gonyeti, mukadzi wako angadai asina kurwadziwa ne rumor,” he said.
A comment from Bright Mutauza said “Pay Gonyeti and shut up, you took advantage of her, wakamushandisa, just pay what she wants, women have rights as well, usada kutigumbura,”
Some fans could go as far as using unprintable words to show their anger at the Tsviriyo hit maker who is riding on a high following the release of his Mudhara Vachauya Album.
Against the growing criticism , there seem to be a camp which is fighting in the lanky musician’s corner.
An avid fan, Anitah Shoko wrote “We love you too soja maFans ako tiri tii. As for Gonyeti siyana nevarume vevanhu iwe you need deliverance,” she said while another fan, Donald Tappiwa Mbonjani added “mahaters akawanda mwana wamai they are jealousy of you chete, Gonyeti wanted to feature in mdara achauya chete so she is bitter,”
Meanwhile the high flying musician has been nominated for this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards 2016.
MTV Base announced the list of the final set of nominees on Sunday night at the Lagos leg of the Road to MAMA at the Hard Rock Café.
This is the first time a Zimbabwean gets a nomination for the prestigious awards also known as the MAMAs.
