MDC-T youths to launch #MyZimbabwe campaign

The Tsvangirai led Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Youth Assembly have announced plans to launch #MyZimbabwe, a campaign which reflects the young people’s love for their country.

Addressing journalists in Harare yesterday, MDC-T Youth Assembly Leader Happymore Bvondo Chidziva said that the party will embark on 3MyZimbabwe campaign which he said is meant to rescue the county from  its current  economic quandaries .

“It is our generational mandate and responsibility to push for the realisation of democracy in our life time.

“In this regard  and to complement all other campaigns taking place , the party youth executive resolved to launch ‘#MYZIMBABWE Campaign’ a campaign that speaks to our love and patriotism to this country. We have been left with no choice but to start a campaign whose mission is to liberate our Zimbabwe from a clueless and greedy clique that only thinks about itself and nothing else,” he said.

He added that the campaign’s agenda is to liberate Zimbabwe from all challenges it is facing.

The liberation war fighters last week denounced President Robert Mugabe and vowed not to back his candidature in the 2018 presidential race. At their Thursday meeting, the war veterans issued a pejorative communiqué, accusing Mugabe of dumping them and embracing party youths to drive his re-election campaign. They also accused the 92-year-old Zanu PF leader of digressing from the party’s founding principles and privatising it.

The MDC-T youth leader labelled Mugabe as an old and clueless leader who is supposed to be staying at an old people’s home.

“Mugabe is too old, he cannot bring anything new and his place can only be an old people’s home,” said Chidziva adding that the country will remain poor because no investor will part with their money in the face of a 92 year old.

The party’s youth president went on to denounce the Zimbabwe Republic Police over its partisan conduct and its brutal tendencies on peaceful protesters.

“We have noted with concern the continued abuse of the police force and the judiciary system by  the desperate Zanu PF regime,” he said encouraging patriotic members of the security forces to listen to their conscience and desist from abusing the populace.
