Zimbabwe’s cricket sensation Sikandar Raza has become the first official resident of Zim Cyber City, following his acquisition of a luxurious apartment

Zimbabwe’s Zim Cyber City project has been generating buzz among international cricket stars, local pension funds, and the Zimbabwean diaspora, with its ambitious plans to transform Mount Hampden in western Harare into the continent’s inaugural smart city.

Speaking after the acquisition Raza told journalists, “I am thrilled to be a part of Zim Cyber City, a groundbreaking initiative that promises to redefine the future of our beloved Zimbabwe. This project represents not only a smart investment but also an opportunity to contribute to the technological and economic growth of our nation.

“As the first resident of Zim Cyber City, I look forward to witnessing its transformation and growth over the coming years. It’s not just about luxury living; it’s about creating a vibrant and innovative community right here in Zimbabwe.

“I believe in the potential of this project to elevate our country’s profile and draw attention from all corners of the world. Zim Cyber City is not just bricks and mortar; it’s a symbol of progress and the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

“I’m excited to be part of this journey and to see how Zim Cyber City will shape the future of our nation. Together, we can make history and bring prosperity to Zimbabwe,” he said.

The visionary project, backed by Mulk Holdings International and chaired by Mr. Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, has taken significant strides towards realization. The official commencement of property sales marked a pivotal moment, as it unveiled plans for the initial phase, which includes the construction of 50 villa units out of a total of 233, with an expected delivery timeline of 18 to 24 months.

Mulk, at the helm of Mulk International, emphasized the completion of civil works and the underway fabrication of villa units in Dubai. “In the next few days,” he announced, “we will initiate the first phase, encompassing 50 units out of the 233 villa units.”

The entire project is scheduled for completion within the next four years, envisioning a fully functional society with shopping malls, towering structures, and water features. Mulk underscored the project’s unique model in Africa, reducing the need to travel to Dubai for shopping, thanks to its special economic zone status, which grants duty-free imports to residents.

Zim Cyber City also boasts tourism potential, with its cutting-edge infrastructure and world-class amenities set to draw visitors from across the globe.

Its integration into the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) program reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable growth and attracting investments. Furthermore, the city will facilitate streamlined clearance for blockchain and digital asset licenses, bank accounts, and provide high-end residential living for all residents and entities within the community.
