More than 4000 couples from different churches around the country gathered for a mass marriage during the weekend at an event which was organised by the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) in collaboration with the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU).
In an interview with 263Chat, FFWPU national chairman of trustees, Bishop Johannes Ndanga said their mission is to strengthen families and to propagate for peace.
“Our mission is to strengthen families, to propagate for peace because peace starts in the family. If you are a peaceful family, you will contribute by solving conflicts within the society.
“We are propagating on marriages based on true love. What causes conflicts within the family are the marriage foundations. Some people marry each other out of lust whereby you just see someone’s legs or any body parts and start to adore her. Now there are many women with beautiful legs and this is why the high court has a backlog of divorce cases.
“So as FFWPU we are advocating for couples to have self-control and we teach them to love each other and this is being done in more than 190 countries,” he said.
He added that their idea is a return back to the biblical Garden of Eden and to revive God’s original plan of creation since Adam and Eve failed.
“Delegations from different countries across the world have gathered here in Zimbabwe because it’s not a small thing and you can as well find that in the bible where it says So God created mankind in his own image. Male and female he created them.
“God blessed them and said to them, “be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it and this clearly means that to be called a person,one must get married.
“The idea is a return back to the garden of Eden and to revive God’s original plan of creation since Adam and Eve has failed and they were chased on our behalf as well,” said Ndanga.
According to Ndanga, FFWPU is more of fighting with the original sin, personal sins, collective sins and ancestral sins as well so as to reverse the cursing.
