A 26 year old Nyabira man was today dragged before the Harare Magistrate’s court on allegations of raping a 52 year old woman.
It is the state’s case that sometime this year, the complainant (name supplied) visited her friend at Blacky Nyabira farm where the accused stayed. The court heard that later in the day, the complainant left for bed and the accused followed and grabbed her by the neck, pulled her pants before raping her.
The state added that the complainant who had passed out only woke up to see used condoms on the floor made a police report leading to the arrest of Mate.
Mate was denied bail with the court advising her to apply at the High Court should he seek to challenge the ruling.
He will be back in court on the 25th of September for routine remand.
