Movement for Democratic Change, (MDC) leader Nelson Chamisa will this weekend head for the United Kingdom where he is expected to meet with UK government officials ahead of polls, 263Chat has learnt.

His spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka confirmed Chamisa’s trip which will also see him address the London based think tank Chatman House and Oxford Union.

The youthful politician will also meet the academia and Zimbabweans in the United Kingdom.

“The people’s President, who is poised to win the watershed election due in a few months time, will use the opportunity to tell Zimbabweans of the better prospects that his incoming government will bring to the country,” said party spokesperson, Luke Tamborinyoka.

Writing on their website, Chatman House said Chamisa will on the 8th of May discuss his efforts to build a united opposition coalition with a strong message, the steps needed to ensure a free and fair election can take place, and the role that international partners can play in Zimbabwe’s democratic process.

Chamisa’s trip comes a few days after the Foreign Affairs minister, Dr Sibusiso Moyo also addressed the Chatman House where he reiterated government’s commitment to a credible plebiscite.
