#263Tech: NetOne Launches OneTech & OneCover

Converged mobile network operator NetOne has partnered BancABC and First Mutual Life Assurance to launch two brand new products namely OneTech and OneCover.

The two products were launched at a colorful event held in Harare on Thursday.

According to Netone Acting Chief Operations Officer, Clever Isaya, OneTech is a scheme for the operator’s existing and prospective subscribers with the product being bankrolled by BancEASY, a subsidiary of BancABC to the tune of $10 million. NetOne customers will have an option to choose from a variety of smartphones from reputable international brands like Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Nokia, Alcatel, ZTE and Lenovo.

From Right: NetOne Acting CEO – Brian Mutandiro chats with First Mutual Operations Officer – Mr Shonhiwa & an Executive from BancEasy.

The phones range from old versions to the latest releases like Samsung 8+, Huawei P10 and Mate 9. To buy a smartphone, customers will get a loan from BancEASY which they will use to pay for the device. The devices will come with complimentary Free OneFusion airtime for 12 months with customers getting a maximum of OneFusion $20 per month, depending on the device one choses to purchase.

Isaya said “OneTech comes after a lot of our customers were complaining and highlighting that in as much as they want to be on OneFusion, they could not afford to own smartphones to enjoy their OneFusion packages.”
