Chibuku Neshamwari provincial dance qualifiers held at Warren Park bar in Harare attracted a sizeable number of people who came to watch various dance groups battling to book a place in the national competitions set for August.

The Mufakose based dance group Culture Warriors emerged winners after shrugging off competition from 13 other groups drawn from across the city of Harare.

Another event happening across town was the Miss Mt Pleasant pageant hosted by Zanu PF member of parliament for Mt Pleasant Jason Passade at 7 Arts Theatre.

The pageant saw 21 models qualifying to the main competition with the 21 year old Sikhulile Shumba walking away with double prizes, being the Queen for Mt Pleasant and the best Miss Talent.

In other events that happened during the event studded event include Baba Harare who performed at Jazz 24/7 with new band members. The former Third Generation guitarist lost some of his band members over non payment of allowances.

Peter ‘YOUNG INGWE’ Moyo and Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi were in Beitbrigde where Samanyanga was helping the Young Ingwe taking his latest album Mopao Mokonzi to the countryside.

Jah Prayzah had his first local show after a long time. At Las Vegas Jah took his time to come on stage leading to fans throwing missiles on stage. When he finally came on he repaid for lost time with a top notch perfomance with songs such as ‘Watora mari’ and ‘Goto’ proving popular with fans.

The Military Touch Movement invaded the OK Grand Challenge where they left a lasting impression with polished performances.

Grammy award-winning British soul singer, Joss Stone was in Zimbabwe for her debut show, sharing stage with Thamsanqa ‘Tamy’ Moyo and Ammara Brown. The show attracted a lot of music lovers from the uptown side.

The Mbare born star Kinnah was at Jongwe corner where he gave his fans value for their money.

Seh Calaz who launched his DVD album last week at club 1+1 was at Zebra village having his first show using a live band. Calaz shared the stage with fast rising star Silent Killer, Tipsy and DJ Cables.
