Dandemutande CEO Shines At The Institute of Directors Awards Ceremony

Dandemutande Investments, Zimbabwe’s leading Broadband Internet service providers, recently demonstrated its influence in ICT solutions after the Chief Executive Officer, Nhena Nyagura scooped two awards from the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IoDZ) at an event held in Harare.

Nyagura won Director of the Year Award in the Large and Listed Companies category and the overall Director of the Year Award for 2016.

Following the merger of four Internet Service Providers namely iWayAfrica, AfricaOnline, uMax and Utande in 2015, Nyagura assumed leadership of the holding company Dandemutande.

In spite of the headwinds faced by industry in 2016, Dandemutande was successful in navigating its course to growth and managed to excel, achieving a number milestones to include the acquisition and consolidation in the market of some key players such as BSAT and YoAfrica.

Through Nyagura’s leadership, Dandemutande achieved impressive growth in both profitability and market share.

Commenting on his awards, Nyagura said “It is an honour to be recognised by a prestigious organisation such as the Institute of Directors for the achievements of Dandemutande.

The IoDZ Director of the Year Award seeks to celebrate achievements by individuals in Zimbabwe who would have distinguished themselves as directors and is aimed at promoting directorial excellence.

This year it was held under the theme ‘Entrenching directorial excellence through effective implementation of the National Code on Corporate Governance of Zimbabwe’

Dandemutande currently holds the Chairmanship of the Zimbabwe Internet Access Providers Association (ZIAPA).
