CUT Student to hold “Creative Journal” exhibition

A Chinhoyi University of Technology student Gamuchirai Mukosa is set to hold an art exhibition under the theme “The Creative Journal” on 9 November 2016 at the Harare Central Prisons.

The exhibition is part of the fulfillment of her final year of the Bachelor of Science in Creative Art and Design Degree programme.

“I will be showcasing artworks I have been creating over the past four year and this includes Graphic design, Print Making, Photography, 3 Dimensional Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, Theatre Design, Environmental design and Advertising,” said Mukosa.

The creative journal is a product of the experiences the artist undergoes and the revelations circled around the art world that the artist encountered.

According to Mukosa the “Creative Journal” is more of a self-introspection of where the artist came from and where they are going.

“While art is an inborn talent to many people, I admit I formally wanted to be in Marketing, I’ve learnt everything that I know about art at the University. I am planning to hold more exhibitions soon and venture into new platforms that have been neglected by the art world, and I will use them positively to promote African Culture and Hope. Everyone coming to the event will be educated and intrigued by the exhibition” she said.

Gamuchirai Mukosa was born in Harare and attended her primary education at Belvedere Primary before proceeding to St John’s Emerald Hill for her secondary education. She enrolled in the department of Art and Design at Chinhoyi University of Technology in 2013, and is now in her final year.
