The former Third Generation lead guitarist, Braveman Mawanza popular known as Baba Harare aka Bravo is set to launch his debut album titled Chikwama Changu in Harare on Thursday.

By Munashe Chokodza

The 14 track album was recorded by Maselo and the former Heshi Mufeshi executive producer Lazzy T. Baba Harare, who left Jah Prayzah early this year said the album was recorded in a short space of time because the concepts were created long back.

The Chikwama Changu launch will be graced by a number of artists including Alick Macheso, Sulumani Chimbetu, Killer T and his former boss, Jah Prayzah. The show will also be a platform for Tete Pipilo who is dubbed as the queen of sungura to benefit from a large audience to showcase her talent.

In an interview with 263Chat, the affable Baba Harare said his inspiration comes from love and social life from the ghetto, “On the album there are a lot of reggae music as you know that reggae is for peace and I am the city father so it’s my duty to promote peace.”

He added that the reason he left the Jah Prayzah camp was a feeling that he had matured enough to be his own man.

I need to thank Jah Prayzah for the platform he gave me to show case my talent and now the ball is in my court I need to show the world that I am the city father for real.

Is Baba Harare going to be like the Sungura king Alec Macheso who left the Khiama boy and started his own thing and managed to be a brand to be a bigger brand than his for employer?

The two have similar starting points cause before Bravo created his own band he used to be a strong member at third generation band same as Macheso at khiama.
