Audio: Efforts to end GBV: What is the Missing Link? – 9 Dec 2014

Gender-based violence (GBV) is an issue that is of great interest to Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre and Network (ZWRCN) as an organisation that champions women’s rights and empowerment. Activities to mark the 16 Days of Activism against GBV tend to focus on the violence itself and the trends and statistics. ZWRCN wishes to interrogate what Zimbabwe has done in efforts to end GBV, and why this does not seem to be turning the tide backwards towards eradication of the scourge; gender based violence is on the increase and there are other disturbing permutations also emerging, such as child marriages, date rape, stalking, sexual harassment through social media.
