Apologize For Gukurahundi Atrocities, Mugabe Told

Transform Zimbabwe President, Jacob Ngarivhume has called on President Robert Mugabe to apologize to the people of Matebeleland for the Gukurahundi atrocities rather than celebrating his birthday there.

By Philemon Jambaya

Ngarivhume who turned 40 on Monday said Mugabe should emulate him for celebrating his birthday in Dzivarasekwa with the elderly, widowed and disabled people.

“It will be an insult to the people of Matebeleland if Mugabe goes there and party before asking for forgiveness for Gukurahundi, he owes an explanation to the people of Matebeleland, it is definitely an embarrassment to Mugabe if he does not apologise.

“I think Mugabe should take a leaf from me, look I am here celebrating my birthday with the less privileged, we are not demanding anything from them but we have come here to enjoy my birthday with them” said Ngarivhume.
